Plantaget

Plantaget is Åmål's city park which after an extensive renovation was reopened in the spring of 2017.

It is composed of lovely plantations, walkways, sculptures and a playground.

The place where Plantaget is today was formerly the city's trading post. The area was formerly the most distinguished residential area in Åmål. In 1777, the whole area, except Vågmästargården, burned down. Since then, the area has escaped all fires that have ravaged Åmål. Plantaget and the buildings around the park are today one of the best-preserved areas in the country from the 18th century.
