Bergska huset

Bergska huset (The house of Berg).

Bergska huset i Åmål

Address: Kyrkogatan 20
Block: Liljan Större 8

Timbered craftsman's house on one and a half floors with slate roof. Built in the first half of the 19th century. The stairwell was added later.

The building is a good example of the low-rise wooden buildings that were prevalent in Åmål in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The house is situated on what was the outskirts of the town of Åmål in the early 19th century. The town boundary followed the northern boundary of the Liljan block at the present Hjeltegatan. The plot was originally 600 square metres, but is now heavily subdivided.

The house is named after a locomotive driver Axel Georg Berg, who lived in the house between 1926 and 1986.

The property is now privately owned.
